What documents do I need as a tourist?

Renting a car in Dubai as a tourist: passport, UAE entry stamp, home country driving license, and an International Driving Permit for some nationalities.

If you're visiting Dubai, you'll need:

  • Your passport

  • Your UAE entry stamp or visa page

  • Your home country driving license

  • An International Driving Permit (IDP), depending on which country issued your license

Licenses from a number of countries are accepted in the UAE on their own. Licenses from other countries need an IDP alongside them.
